Since 2006, Coastal Pump and Equipment has been dedicated to one thing keeping your project moving with reliable equipment and a team you can trust. What began as a small operation supporting oilfield water transfer has grown into a multi location company serving municipalities, contractors, and emergency response needs across the region. With more than three decades in the pump industry, Marvin Travasos founded Coastal Pump and Equipment to solve real problems for customers who needed reliable equipment fast. Over the years, he has grown the company into multiple locations while staying grounded in the same values that started it all. He remains closely involved, guiding the team with experience, faith, and a commitment to dependable work.

Joe Chaisson, Vice President

Joe Chaisson

Vice President

Joe Chaisson serves as Vice President of Coastal Pump and Equipment and is based in Broussard, Louisiana. He has worked with the company for six years. In his role, he helps lead Coastal’s growth and stability through strong management and team-building efforts, while identifying new market share opportunities and driving diversification across regions. His areas of expertise include team building, business management, rental efficiencies, and pump applications. Joe is particularly proud of helping grow Coastal’s revenue by over 375% in less than three years. He enjoys interacting with both his team and customers, and outside of work, he spends time with his wife Kay, travels, cooks, and practices woodworking. A fun fact about Joe is that he is an avid guitar collector who plays a little as well.

Jonathan Landry

Sales and Operations Manager

Jonathan Landry serves as the Sales and Operations Manager in Broussard, Louisiana, and has been with Coastal since 2025. He oversees sales and rental performance across multiple branches, aligning field execution with operational and logistical planning to optimize fleet utilization, streamline service processes, and maximize equipment uptime. With over two decades in surgical orthopedics sales, Jonathan is known for staying calm under pressure, prioritizing quickly, and delivering results when it matters most. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping introduce robotic-assisted surgery to the Lafayette orthopedic market, supporting adoption and improving patient outcomes. He was drawn to Coastal for its strong faith-based values and team-oriented culture. Outside of work, Jonathan enjoys saltwater fishing, cooking, and watching his kids play sports. He and his wife have adopted two children and several dogs, including their three-legged Maltipoo, “Tripod Pete.”

Lonnie McDonald

Midland Branch Manager

Lonnie McDonald is the Branch Manager of Coastal’s Midland location, where he has been serving for the past two years. He oversees the day-to-day operations of the branch, planning strategically to meet the needs of the local customer base and ensure smooth, efficient performance. Lonnie is particularly proud of reducing overhead costs in Midland while increasing throughput to maintain ready-to-rent units. He most enjoys identifying opportunities for branch improvement and working alongside his team to help them grow both personally and professionally. Outside of work, Lonnie values spending time with his family and taking care of his property—and as a fun fact, he once worked as a hunting guide in Alaska.

Dustin Niemietz

Carthage Branch Manager

Dustin Niemietz is the Manager of Coastal’s Carthage, TX branch, where he has been a dedicated team member for over a year. In his role, Dustin oversees all branch operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and a high standard of customer service. He specializes in building strong, lasting relationships with both customers and employees while maintaining a results-driven approach to leadership and financial management. Dustin is proud of his contributions to strengthening and growing multiple branches into stable and successful operations. What he enjoys most about his work is the meaningful relationships he builds and the goals his team achieves together. Outside of work, Dustin values spending time with his wife and children, and he considers his happiest moments to be those shared with his family or spent doing what he loves at work.

He enjoys helping communities recover after coastal storms and natural disasters, and outside of work, he loves visiting his grandkids, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and gardening. Outside Sales Representative

Bryce Brandon is an Outside Sales Representative for Coastal in Broussard, where he has spent the past four years building strong relationships with contractors, businesses, and government entities to support their equipment rental needs. He focuses on prospecting new clients, strengthening existing accounts, and delivering tailored rental solutions that drive revenue growth, recently surpassing $5 million for his branch. Known for his strong communication skills, product knowledge, and competitive, results-driven mindset, Bryce thrives under pressure and high expectations. Ashley Niemietz is an Outside Sales Representative for Coastal Pump & Equipment’s East Texas branch, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in sales and marketing. Known for her reliability, innovative thinking, and ability to thrive in high-pressure environments, Ashley takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and building long-standing client relationships rooted in trust. In addition to her role in industrial sales, Ashley is an entrepreneur, owning both a photography company and a horse sale business. Alongside her husband, Dustin, and their three children, she owns and operates a ranch where she enjoys raising horses and cattle. Her professional drive and personal passion for ranch life reflect her strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment to excellence in everything she does.

Jordan Bertrand

Asset Manager

Jordan Bertrand is an Asset Manager based in Broussard, Louisiana, and has been with Coastal for nearly three years. In his role, he manages all company assets, including registration, new builds, purchasing, tracking, and service scheduling for the Broussard location, with a specialty in asset management. Grant specializes in working with construction companies and municipalities, with a strong emphasis on fostering lasting customer connections. He is especially proud of contributing to the growth of the Broussard location as part of a new position. What he enjoys most about his work is meeting new people and helping customers when they need it most. Outside of work, Grant enjoys spending time with his wife and son, as well as playing golf and hunting and fishing. A fun fact about Grant is that he’s a big LSU fan.
